Volcanic materials have a varied behavior depending on their geomechanical properties.
They have influence in many natural hazards (rockfalls, landslides, earthquakes, coastal erosion) and some impact on civil engineering works (road slopes, tunnel construction, costal pathways, concrete and asphaltic pavements). In fact, geomechanical properties are basic data in many Geoengineering calculations. We focus our interest on the geological identification and geomechanical characterization of volcanic materials applied to Engineering purposes.
