Natural hazards

The aim of this line is the analysis of the natural hazards in the Canary Islands from a spatiotemporal perspective. The works done in this line have been focused mainly on the analysis of climate risk, centred on the adverse weather events and their recurrence in the context of global climate change. Work on flooding processes in urban areas have been also developed, with a variety of methodologies, including evaluation of emergencies and disasters management systems at the local level, facing to propose measures for managing and improving the resilience of these urban areas.
